Costa Rica Baby!

So it finally arrived. Our trip to Costa Rica that is. And now its gone. Holidays are crap like that, aren't they?

Anyway, we all had a blast. Hot weather and a beach (and a swank private house to boot) is always a good thing in February. We spent the week with our friends Jochen and Lisa and their 2 bambinos Will and Tenessee. The house we stayed at was great. The owner was called... George Harrison. The guy staying at the house next to us was a punker from the 70's called Avis Davis.

The place was great and hagning with our frineds was swell too. All in all it was awesome. Well had it been 10 days it would have been even better. So this year, instead of asking for a massive plasma t.v., Ella has decided sha wants cash. For her education. Thank you all in advance.

The trip in to Montezuma where we stayed was pretty interesting. We flew to San Jose (the capital of Costa Rica) and then hopped on a 12 seater plane to Tambor airport (see the shot of the metal lean-to surrounded by a few trees? Thats the airport). Then we met our friends in Santa Theresa for one night before heading to Montezuma. (Weird Fact: In Santa Theresa they spray the streets with molasses. I thought I was in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and had to be held back. Im thinking of opening a place called 'Frank's Casa del Pancakes'. Think of the savings!)

For those of you who are among the many we met en route who said "Wow. You're awfully brave travelling with a 5 month old!", well, yes, we were. Although hats off to Ella who was amazing. She barely fussed and she even took the controls of the plane over the Gulf Of Mexico for a few minutes. Turbulance cut her flight short and she had to let me take over again, but she did well.

No seriously, she was really good. It took her a couple of days to adjust to the heat but once we got her hooked on swimming, she was set. Oh, and she loved nothing better than to relax in the hammock with a margarita. See the video:
