Pierogis or Play Doh?

Ella's becoming quite a laugh these days. She seems to pick up a new word or sentence every day. Today she said to me "Be right back" as she left the basement to go and say Hi to Christine's friend Jen on the phone. Then, when she came back a few minutes later, she said "Hi togen!". I said "What?", and she paused and thought hard and said "Ella hi to Jen". Hilarious.

She did that a few times today – pause, think hard and then say what she was trying to tell me. I felt like I was speaking with a foreigner who didn't know English well.

She has a cold now too (daycare strikes again). I've been carrying a kleenex in my pocket and wiping her nose. Then this afternoon she came out of the bathroom with a kleenex and put it in her pocket. Then when she was on her swing, she pulled it out and wiped her nose, then put it back. She was so proud to have something in her pocket. So cute.

The other night she cracked Christine and I up. Christine and Ella made homemade play doh during the day and were playing with it when I got home. Then for dinner, Christine made Ella some pierogis. When Christine put the bowl of pierogis down, Ella looked at them and said "Oh. Play doh". But her tone was kind of like "Oh. I havent had play doh for dinner before". I tried to trick her into eating play doh later on by eating an entire small tub of purple. She didnt fall for it.
